  • The AI Scholars is for High School Students (9th to 12th Grade) who have taken up the high school-level Math classes (Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, etc..)

    The AI Trailblazers program is less math heavy to accommodate students who have not taken up High School math classes yet.

  • Classes are held online via Zoom, while class materials are uploaded and available on Google Classroom.

  • Yes, we offer need based aid for AI Scholars, AI Trailblazers, and Deep Dives.

    We offer up to 100% of aid. You can indicate that you need aid directly in the application form, and you will automatically be considered!

  • For AI Scholars and AI Trailblazers, no previous experience is required! But students need to show a keen interest in AI since the program is quite fast paced.

    For the Deep Dive and AI Fellowship programs, you will either need to complete the AI Scholars program or have had past experience with AI concepts or Python.

  • We do not offer make-up classes, but students will have access to class recordings in case they are unable to attend a session.

  • For the AI Scholars, AI Trailblazers and Deep Dive Programs, project topics are determined through a collaborative process within the small groups. Should your desired topic be selected by another group, we are open to transferring you that group.

    For the AI Fellowship Program, you are able to choose based on your field of interest.

  • The output is flexible and you can create an app, a software, a research paper, or work on a presentation.

    If you decide to create a research paper, we also have a publication team who can assist you with improving and submitting your work to journals.

  • University of California, San Diego is one of the largest public universities in the world. The Extended Studies division offers programs focused on professional-level training and opportunities for advancement in one’s skills and career preparedness. UCSD Extended Studies is offering 3 units of post-baccalaureate credit to anyone who successfully completes our AI Scholars, Deep Dives, or AI Fellowship Program.


    During the cohort, you can choose to enroll in the credit program, if you want. You will be guided on the enrollment process and pay a processing fee to UCSD Extended Studies. Upon completing the program, you will be eligible to receive your transcript and credit units.
